Here’s what happens to people who say bad things about The Purples.
Exhibit A: Jerry Buckley.
Jerry Buckley (or “Barkley” as I call him in The Purples) was a popular Detroit radio announcer with a huge following. Yeah, he liked to yammer and thought he was tough stuff, calling for the recall of the mayor and all. After Buckley was shot down by three mysterious gunmen in a swanky hotel lobby, more than 100,000 suckers turned out for his funeral. The killing of Buckley was Detroit’s so-called “crime of the century.”
He was a real Motormouth. And said unkind things in reference to us (“We must take the guns away from the monkeys.”)
Not that we had anything to do with his demise.
